Went life drawing!
Went to a life drawing night at the college. The model had this roman centurion costume on - had a blast! Surprisingly fun to be drawing with conte on newsprint again. 2 minute warm-up gestures, 5 minute quick studies, some 2-minute gestures changing the body type and 10 and 15 minute pencil sketches to wrap up.

Rockabilly Gnolls
I always advise my students against all-nighters. They do help, though. Or maybe it is the markers.
Greaser murlocs to come.

Lone Wookie and Cub
So I was looking at CreatureBox and just kind of admiring how they play with contrast - big shapes next to little one, thin limbs next to fat bits - and I started doodling a wookie with a kid (kind of a "lone wolf and cub" thing) and I liked the idea, but the drawing had reminded me of "Brutal Legend" and I kind of brought in some pants and a hairline on my wookie without even thinking about it. But wookies don't have pants or hairlines. Also, I drew the arms as being very different sizes... so a few mistakes but I really liked where the idea had gone apart from that, so I did another one (on the bottom) and I dug it.

Up all night.
So my next things is gonna be diesel-punk biker-gangers based on different units of cavalry from around the world. My buddy said to make them animals too. So... Mid-Century Cossack Fox Biker?

So... I did some Steven Universe fan art.
I drew my roomies and myself as Gems - I used our birthstones. Then I found out these are called "Gemsonas". Like personas that are Gems. Get it? That is a thing and I did it and I didn't know it and I didn't even care. This show is amazing.

Meet Morganne!
Another D&D character. She's a little warlock who sold her soul for horrific power and is now trying to set things right. You know... relatively. Right-ish.

Mad Max: Fury Road art.
What do Polecats do to stay in such good shape? Pole fitness, of course. Sharpie and Staedtler .05mm markers. Mechanical pencil helped, too.

Anatomy lessons
Went to the Ottawa Nature museum, they've got the "Body Worlds: Animals Inside Out" exhibit open for visits. Amazing to see all of the overlapping muscles systems up so close, and posed in motion. Took some pictures, did some sketches, put some markers on them when I got home. Sharpie and PITT white marker on mid-tone sketch pad.

WIP
More painting practice (not painted yet, ironically.), I wanted to do a bad-ass Celtic warrior, so I scribbled some poses and picked one, and I thought she looked cool but she was just kind of standing there. So I posed her out better and gave her some more historically accurate gear. Going for early 0 - 300 AD look. After Romans showed up, before the middle ages. Not a lot of records survive from the era, and reference on Pinterest is beautiful but improbable. Broke out my reference books and found that simple tunics / belts / sandals were the way to go. Threw on a big shield and some light leather armour and she's ready for actual paint. Maybe get reference for the inside of a shield. And woad. Maybe some torcs.
I think.

Time for a monk, you say?
Her name is Sin, she trained under a master in the Shadowlands before slaying him in single combat and setting out to find her destiny. Best hire ever.
